Week 6

Well it’s not long to go now, just 3 weeks!

I have a big reason to be good this week….my bridesmaids dress for my best friends wedding has finally arrived in store and i’m going to try it on this Saturday. When I went to try on dresses, back in November, I managed to fit into a size 10 although I know with Christmas and the New Year I put weight on i’m hoping to have lost what I put on….. and more.

With this my menu for this week is looking very boring with lots of fruit, jacket potatos, fish and brown rice along with 2 power walks, 1 kick boxing session and 2 sessions in the gym.

Week 5

We are offically back on the programme this week! With some of the participants being off for the 2 week Easter holiday we decided to halt our 8 week programme although I know a few people still went to the gym and didn’t eat that extra Easter egg!

With Spring finally here (you know it’s going to rain tomorrow now i’ve written that!) i seem to be back to enjoying my salads and jacket potato’s and not bothering when my boyfriend is sitting next to me eating a huge fry-up for his dinner!

A friend of mine has started Slimming World and told me that Muller Light yoghurts are a “sin free” food on her programme so my fridge is now full of every flavour of Muller light yoghurts!

Post-Easter

Well Easter is well and truly over and don’t I know about it! My house is full of Easter eggs and puddings that weren’t eaten over the four day weekend and there calling for me to eat them!

I don’t think I ate too much more than usual although my Mum’s Easter Sunday dinner was a treat! It’s now back to reality and i’m hitting the gym again this week although the programme is offically on a 2 week break due to the majority of participants being on holiday i’m going to give it my all.

I have found though that as I didn’t really have a routine for the Bank Holiday weekend i’m feeling hungry all the time and my usual fruit salad or having a glass of water isn’t working. I’m now trying eating little and often and going for a walk during my lunch or in the evening just to get my mind off food.

Week 4

Well this weekend was a bit of a washout. I was planning on doing more exercise than last weekend but only ended up going for a walk to the pub (which was surely cancelled out by the large glass of wine I consumed whilst there) and a walk with a friend along a flat country road, not really exercise I think you will agree!

I’ve been quite good with my food intake although todays lunch of store bough carrot soup was not very fulfilling. My food shop is being delivered tomorrow and I have got a good selection of fresh fruit and veg, a mixture of dairy and brown rice to create my lunches and only 1 box on mini milks!

The plan for the week inlcudes 3 gym sessions, 1 walk and a 8 mile walk on Good Friday with friends and family, a tradition for my partners family that I am now supposed to participate in!

Day 20

We’ll all that over eating and lack of exercise has definatly been worked off today as I walked into town twice and went for a walk at lunch up a very steep hill, when at the top I could see from one side of town to the other.

A good session in the gym after work with the weights and I think I will have worked off the same amount of calories as i’ve eaten today…….until I get home and have the homemade curry I made last night, oh well a girls got to treat herself, it is Friday after all!

Day 18

Where has the week gone!

It’s Thursday already and i’ve only been to the gym once, although I am going tonight and Friday and with my fridge freezer deciding to break on Monday morning my meals have not been the best so far this week.

Good news though in the 18 days i’ve been on the programme i’ve lost just over 5.5lbs, now i just need to keep it off and keep losing more!

Week 3

I think a fair few of the team really took advantage of the lovely weather last weekend and either got out on their bikes or went for a walk….all it takes is a little sunshine to bring us all outdoors!

Three members of the Motiv8 Activ8 programme took part in a bleep test yeaterday which for myself was a lot harder than I remember it being at school!

I was told today that i look like i’ve lost weight which is always a good thing as although one of my aims was to actually loose weight i would also like to loose inches so i look slimmer!

Another gym session tonight which should hopefully rid me of my massive hunger cravings today!

Day 12

Well what can I say, I am offically unfit!!!! Lynsey in Powersport put me through my paces last night as I had asked her to devise a programme for me to target my legs, stomach and arms, I woke up this morning in sooooooo much pain!

I’m hoping by doing the programme twice a week along with a cardio programme twice a week it will get me in shape for my trip to Cuba later in the year.

I would like to thank and congratualte all of the staff and students at Grantham College who took part in the Sport Relief mile today, we had a great turn out and raise lots of money for a great cause.

Day 11

I’m hoping the reason for me starting to eat more is due to the fact that my body needs more calories due to me exercising twice a day!

Over the past 3 days i’ve noticed my daily intake of calories rise back up from 1500/1600, which i had planned to maintain whilst on the Motiv8 Activ8 programme, back up to nearly 1800. Not all of these are the so called “bad” calories although i must admit to sharing an Easter egg with my finance last night, well it was only 95p!

My exercise routine has changed fairly dramatically from doing just 3 45 minute sessions on the Wii Fit a week to walking for 30 minutes nearly every day and 3 workouts at the gym.

I have booked in with Lynsey in Power Sport this evening who is going to devise a workout plan for me designed specifically at those “probelm” areas! I know a few of the other Motiv8 Activ8 members have also had sessions with Lynsey which is a good idea as we all require and work at different levels.

Day 8&9

Yesterday I heard from a few of the Motiv8 Activ8 members to I thought i’d let you know what they have been up to over the past week.

Shelley - Went for a run last week although is planning to hit the gym 3 times this week to tone up, loose weight and feel more active! Shelley is also attending Weight Watchers and since joining she has been training her brain and body to eat more healthly in turn eating less points resulting in losing 5.5lbs in 4 weeks, well done Shelley.

Rosemary - Didn’t have a good first week although on Monday this week she walked to work arriving early enough to have a healthy breakfast of porridge.

Dawn - Attended the gym a few times last week and is having a programme devised to help shift some weight in certain areas.
